Fact-checking has always been important, because all sources—both human and machine—can make mistakes or lie on purpose. The difference is that with an AI bot it’s just you who sees the answer, so there’s no one else to call it out.
Very interesting thanks :) it makes me want to analyse Chat GPT’s Tone of voice in one of my future NL editions :) as a copywriter and writer, I like advocating for brand (or personal brand) voices that stand out, so I often pick what I consider to be inspiring examples and decrypt them. I think this AI will be the exception in my list ie « how not to write if you want to stand out » :)
The people who program AI ... do they not realize that the apps are only as “smart” as the humans who program them? In other words, scratch a computer, find a human, whether it is scrubbing millions of blogs and websites or directly programmed. Down the road, AI may become more sophisticated than it already is, but it is sheer hubris to think it will replace humans altogether. Remember when copier machines became available commercially? In the late 70s, there was an art trend called Copy Art, which involved making copies of copies of copies. Each became more degraded, which created certain interesting art effects, but in the end, disposable. That is what AI reminds me of, especially for writing and research.
/me goes to read about Copy Art right now. But yes, *maybe* AI/ChatGPT will become more sophisticated in the future? In fairness, it seems to do relatively well already when you give it a wildly creative prompt with fewer constraints (e.g. "write me a rhyming sonnet about search engines") instead of the research task I used in the examples above. We'll see.

YES PLEASE! You should do it. I'd love to read it :)
It would be in French though but thanks 😀

...sigh.
